Diane Paull has had a lifelong connnection with the visual arts that began with drawing at an early age and continued with formal studies in art history at Wellesley College, and architectural design at MIT. Pursuing a life in the arts led to further study in printmaking, photography, life drawing and graphic design.

Although her career has included many creative disciplines, painting has always been her destination. Diane owned a full-service graphic design firm for over a decade before reconnecting with her desire to paint. In 1999 a pastel class sparked a passion for this versatile medium. A plein air workshop in Sedona in 2003 became the turning point that inspired a dedication to painting outdoors, and confirmed the decision to transition into fine art, full-time. The light and landscape of the Southwest drew her to move to Arizona one year later.

Growing up on the east coast in a family that supported the arts and also had a sincere reverence for the natural landscape, she developed a connection and sensitivity that shows up in her paintings. Nature is where she finds both adventure and solace.

Diane’s work has won many awards and is included in private and corporate collections as well as having been selected for a 2006 exhibit at the West Valley Art Museum in Surprise, Arizona. While living in Atlanta she was co-chair of programming for the Southeastern Pastel Society and a member of the Atlanta Artists Center. Currently she is a juried Artist Member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society and the Arizona Art Alliance.

Her inspiration is drawn from quiet, peaceful places in the hope of sharing them in an enduring and uplifting way. A native of Massachusetts, she now resides in Arizona.
